But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:25
A movie that I always loved is “The Lakehouse.” It’s a story about love all caught up in time, and a house, and crazy happenings that make no sense in the real world.
Kind of like my own story some days.
In the final chapter of the movie, a note is passed between the two main characters, with a message that has these words:
Wait for me; wait with me.
I cried when I saw that message the first time, and I’ve cried every time I’ve re-watched the movie since then. It is a message that is being spoken to me by my Dear Shepherd, as He calls me to Himself in this journey of waiting for my broken family to be healed, waiting for forgiveness and softened hearts.
I have been waiting and praying and waiting some more. Anyone reading this post that has a prodigal child, knows the pain of a fractured family and knows the pain of waiting. It can be agonizing at times. It can be exhausting. It sometimes makes you feel a little bit lost. But those moments are the moments when I turn to Him.
~~~~~~
I wonder if God’s people felt that same weariness of waiting as the centuries passed with no sight of the promised Messiah’s coming?
I wonder if they began to doubt that their nation would ever find the healing that only a Messiah could bring?
I wonder if the sight of that star shining brightly over Bethlehem stirred something that had been buried so deeply that they had almost forgotten it was there?
~~~~~~
Our Heavenly Father has called each of us to a place of waiting. The reasons and the seasons are different for each of us. But His ultimate purpose is the same as it was for those down-trodden people of Israel hidden away under the power of Roman rule.
He is transforming us into a people who will learn to wait WITH Him, to long for a relationship with Him, to seek His face in the middle of the longest nights, and to find a love deeper than we could ever know.
As I look to Him in this Season, I find Him drawing me closer and telling me to look to Him in this season of my family's waiting also.
Have you heard the message of “Wait for me; wait with me” being echoed in your own heart?
“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” Matthew 1:23
I would love to pray with you today:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We ask you to prepare our hearts for this season of waiting. Forgive us for our impatience that would rob our souls of the Joy of Your coming. We long to learn to wait WITH You, to see the way that You see, and to embrace Your heart of love. Lift up our eyes to see Your star of hope shining over us here. And we will give You our hearts to hold in the wait.
In Jesus name,
Amen
I hope you all have a peaceful Christmas season with those that you love!

When we are on social media it is so easy to get lost in the world of “I want more followers.” and “I want more likes”. But remember. God wants us to be humble. He resists the proud.
James 4:6
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
And it shouldn’t matter how many likes or shares or follows you get. It should matter what GOD thinks!
Another social media snag that gets us is forgetting who the praise and glory belongs to. When we share a nice post or a great picture or an inspiring page or an uplifting video for God’s kingdom, a lot of the commenters will give “us” the praise for it and we may go right along with them. What we really should be doing is reminding them kindly that all the glory truly belongs to Him️!
Matthew 6:1
“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
Galatians 1:10
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ

When I look out the window, I see the trees. Their trunks, limbs,
and branches are bare. They look really beautiful, covered in fresh snow, against the clear sky, so different from when they were hidden by all their leaves. ️
I think that one day I will appear before God with all my leaves
gone, all those things that had hidden me from myself and from other people. 🏻
Just the bare me. I hope on that day, the Lord will see some beauty in me also.
I trust that's where your hope is also.🥰⭐️
...When He Returns️

Winnie the pooh famously said “If the person you are talking to doesn’t appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear”
When Moses spoke to his people in the Bible they didn’t listen because their spirits were broken. But God called for compassion on them.
So what do you do when someone just won’t listen? Winnie’s wise words say “be patient”. God’s wiser words say “Love is patient, Love is kind”. Love is willing to wait.
So if you are frustrated with someone today because they won’t listen to your advice...or hurt by someone that won’t change their ways...be patient and pray. God will open their ears and heart in His time. God isn’t finished with them yet🥰

At 12:30 AM I was woke from a dead sleep. Something told me to go check on Zonny. I went across the hall and she was wheezing. I gave her her nebulizer (which woke her up) and it relieved the wheezing. I laid down with her (like a worried mama) and said to her "God woke me up and told me to come check on you, we should tell him thank you." So we both said "Thank you God Amen" then she said "I love you Mom" and rolled over and fell asleep.
Yesterday, when I was enduring some bad stuff, I spent a good portion of the day feeling sorry for myself. Finally I cried out to God to just make the bad stuff stop already. At 12:30 AM He sent me a heart hug. Another thing I hadn't realized yesterday, in the midst of my self-pity, was He was blessing me all day yesterday during my pain. I work from home doing web development and when I looked at my books this morning for yesterday, the amount was double the norm! I think God was trying to tell me He hasn't forgotten me. He is already working things out.
It is so easy in times of trouble to fall back into the habit of self- pity when what we should be doing is falling back into the arms of God. So I know, without a shadow of a doubt: Everything the enemy has stolen from me, God is going to restore, not just for me but for you too. You just have to believe Him.

I’m in the action business, God is in the results business.
There are some things I can control, and some things I can’t.
What a gift it is to learn that my real role in life is to just suit up and show up, and then let God take care of the results. This has released me from tension and worry as well. What a gift it is to live this way, and when I worry these days, I just remind myself that I am in the action business, and God is in the results business.
